Trips to Ross's hut in Devon

Location of Saunton

Another Dorchester tradition, now established for several years, is the annual visit to Ross's hut in Devon. 'Hut' being the key adjective to describe this wooden building with no electricity or running water, but back to basics is the fun of this (isn't it?!) It was an ideal way to evade the petrol crisis of 2000 anyway, well; once we'd found enough petrol to get ourselves there! We could then think about everyone else queueing for petrol and panic-buying all the non-cherry danish pastries (and bread, milk, value lemonade, and, er, all food really!) from Tesco's, while we just hit the beach...

Hopefully the trips will continue for many years to come (termites permitting!)
